Puget Canal

The Puget Canal (Pugetisch: Puget Kanal) is an 169.75-kilometer (105.5 mi) long ship canal in Puget that connects the Emeraude Ocean (via the Emerald Sea and Aleutian Narrows) to the Puget Sea. The canal cuts across the Isthmus of Åmål and is a key conduit for international maritime trade, especially with Utrova and Heimen.

I wondered wether there would be something like this 
The east coast of Heimen as more and bigger ports than the west coast, which borders the Puget Sea. But because of the mainy rivers flowing in the Puget sea Heimen will use the canal very much anyway.
